L.M.A.O. Thank you

She's so bad that its good, never seen that one before & I don't usually pay much attention to the commercials from that company but I got a chuckle watching that one.

Just heard a piano-led, instrumental version of Pixies' 'Where is my Mind'... but I don't know whose commercial it was because I only caught the tail end of it and I didn't turn around fast enough to see. Prozac maybe?

I've just seen it again a few times. It's for Microsoft. I guess Prozac was a fairly close guess.

I'd have to say that you're right. The New Wave era yielded so many catchy melodies - many of which are embedded into the public subconscious.

The second reason of course is money. The era of big royalty checks passed years ago. Sometimes too, a commercial or TV / movie incineration will revamp a song. It's tough to make money in music now. Most songwriters will market their music any way they can.

Have any of you guys seen the new "Razor" phone commercial, where they're painting the phones in different colors, and wearing spacesuit type things? then, they walk out in regular street clothes(red shirts), and there's a sort of synthy girl song playing in the background"....let it go.... let it go".
It definitely sounds new wave-ish to me, I wish i knew who sung it.

'Just Can't Get Enough' for Staples-- are they really that desperate for cash or is it just Warners?
