Love them or hate them, 'Quick Step and Side Kick' is a wonderful album, and the band at their peak. 'Set' was also an excellent album. I cannot tolerate the hits from 'Into the Gap', so that halts my interest from going further..., though I did have that LP back in 1984. I did have the 'Future Days' LP at one point ages ago, but found it vile.

I'm just glad thew Thompson Twins were finally able to realize their true calling. Not as musicians but as sheep farmers in NZ. I'm not sure what the attraction was to those sheeps but it is apparently much more exciting than creating and playing music.

Their foray into the sheep sciences has spared us 20 plus years of potential new schlock music, god awful reunion tours and more hideous outfits.

On behalf of the rest of the mammals on planet earth, I would like to thank the sheep of New Zealand for taking one for the team.

Sheep in NZ are used exclusively for Sex.. so that may help explain the attraction.

Everything that was popular and listenable back in the '80s is awful here. If it sold 8 copies and sounds like somebody's cat was playing with their Casio, it's brilliant. Haven't you figured out this site's modus operandi yet?

I guess now the musical preferences around this site make sense.

I got a chance to listen to some of Thompson Twins material from the late 80's and early 90's and this definitely deserves to be ridiculed. Their material from the early to mid 80's was pretty good in my opinion, but they went drastically downhill in the later stages of their careers as musicians. I can see why they may have become sheep farmers.

Because I know you guys know the rule about matter and anti-matter, someone here [i]has[/i] to love 'em, even in the years after the natty dread left and the chart hits dried up.

Here I stand, proudly: Thompson Twins were brilliant. Loved them then, love them still. Two of their LPs are in my all-time top 15.

But carry on, I take no offense. It's just personal taste at the end of the day.

Yes, I love them, too. They were my first concert, with opening act Berlin, Summer '84 at Blossom Music Center in (well, near) Cleveland. Also saw them December '85 with OMD as openers. Great live act.
