The Cult Ever Play Nassau Community College, NY?

Postby Crocodiles » Sat Dec 12, 2009 6:32 am

I could swear I saw The Cult play Nassau Community College in New York back in the mid 80s. It has to be around '86 because it was before the "Electric" album. I specifically remember Ian introducing a new song and the giggles it got when he said the title - "Love Removal Machine."

The Cult web pages do not list any concert played at Nassau Community College. Is my mind shot? Did I see them at The Beacon? Anyone recall if The Cult played Nassau Community College in Long Island, New York?

I only seem to recall The Ritz in '85 or around that timeframe. But then again, I didn't see them - but I knew of folks who saw that show.

Yes they did. I was at the show (and at The Ritz too). Other bands that played in the Nassau Community College cafeteria were Fishbone, Public Image LTD, Psychedelic Furs and I think U2, the Ramones and also Red Hot Chili Peppers. I remember Fishbone did a cover version of Van Halen's "Running with the Devil" called "Running with you pants off".

Thanks, aadam12, for easing my mind and making me know I wasn't out of my mind. I knew I saw them at NCC.
