THE NEW HOWARD JONES DTOX BOX SET WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE UK TOUR & AVAILABLE FOR PREORDER NEXT WEEK

Dtox Box Set 3 will be available to purchase on the Howard Jones tour commencing 11th April 2012 at Bristol.

The new box set will contain remastered versions of Howard's classic albums 'One to One' , 'Cross That Line' and 'In The Running'. The box set will also contain 2 bonus discs containing a wealth of previously unreleased and rare tracks, all remastered. Also included are new remixed versions of 'The Prisoner' and 'You Know I Love You Don't You', these are not dance mixes but complete reconstructions from the original parts using modern technology.

The price for the limited edition 5 Disc box set is £35. The box sets will be hand numbered and complete the trilogy of Warner Remastered box sets.

The box sets will be available to purchase on Pre Order from the Howard Jones Shop on Tuesday 10th but please note that as Howard is on tour at this time we will not be able to commence shipping until 23rd April, as we will need to process and number the orders.
We have split the early box set numbers evenly between those we are selling online and those on the tour. The box set will also be available at the forthcoming US shows.

The Howard Jones Shop now accepts American Express.
We will make the box set available on Amazon on April 30th, it will be the same price.

It's 35 pounds according to the post. I'm in for certain on this one. Love supporting Mr. Jones' efforts to revitalize his back catalog. I only wish other artists would follow his lead. He's quite a class act.

Real shame that the bonus disc (RISK) from the first 2 albums is botched. The first 3 tracks are fine, but the rest of the tracks has the start of the next track on the end, so that the next track starts somewhere in the first second.

Talking about missed opportunities, this is al real one.

At another discussion board, this flaw with the track markers has been brought up once before with regard to these c-d’s and other ones (from different artists) that have similar flaw/s. While no one can say for sure, it may not be accidental.

Putting the track markers intentionally in the wrong places makes it harder to copy the (c-d) or copy single songs when using conventional (c-d) ripping software. I have seen in one instance where a disc had 10 songs on it with 20 track marker / indexes. The disc played ok, but to move from one song to the next you would have to push the next track button twice, not to big of deal in itself, but if you tried to rip the c-d to make a back up copy, using conventional (c-d) ripping software, you would end up with 20 (half songs).

There is an easy & accurate way to fix them with out manually editing them, but you have to have software that can do a disc at once rip that also has the ability to allow you to put (< float >) the track indexes in the right places and or omit the unnecessary ones.

I'm not saying for these C-d's this was done on purpose, but it seems odd they would allow it to happen twice.

If I bought those discs at that expensive price (which was only possible via Howard's dtox-site) last year because I wanted that 3rd (RISK) disk with all those remixes so bad, I would have been really mad!

Meanwhile, after a full year, there's still no answer about how and why this happened!
That's what really troubles me.

Because of this, I'm not interested in the first box, neither the upcoming 2nd. Regarding the high price you'll have to pay for these, there's no guarantee that the next one will be error-free. It's a hopeless case to me.

A lot of people were mad about it. Especially the people that like to listen to their cd's played on (random play-back). That's when the track marker flaws become very noticeable.

On HJ's website it stated that all the remasters were very carefully redone and edited. If they didn't notice or care about the track markers that were so obvious ,maybe it wasnt an issue to them!

Just for clarification, the (audio file mastering / what you hear musically) and (c-d mastering / what you don't hear) are two different things. While they may have paid a lot of attention to what the c-d's sound/ed like with regard to the audio, I.M.O. "for the money" each should be perfect. It just doesn't seem to make much sense to make them sound nice, then put limitations on how they playback.
