Howard Jones

I would bet the track markings on these CD's being fucked up would have been done intentionally to stop people ripping them. I personally won't be buying this new box or any other of his remasters because they are over priced to fuck and the question was asked whether or not these would be made available via the likes of amazon, play and the likes and yes they are being sold by amazon but they are from his own store at his inflated prices. The issue about the bad track markers was brought up on his forum but you would have been as well talking to a brick wall there as most of them there seem to think the sun shines out of his arse and are happy with these releases at their inflated prices.

I have been waiting forever to have all of the Howard Jones remixes in a quality CD edition. Am I happy that the sets are pricey? No, but were they free of errors, and not issued in crappy scratch-prone cardboard sleeves I'd still shell it out because at least the money is going to Howard and I have enjoyed the music for years.

I was just about to buy the new set for the same reason in spite having limited interest in owning the albums themselves, but until we get some explanation for why they've screwed up twice in a row now, I'm done buying anything else from them. For those who don't give a crap about the bonus disc, lucky for you. For me, it's the whole reason to buy the set. The remastered albums are just the cherry on the sundae.

I posted a message there outlining the problems, so at the very least we'll know soon enough if they do indeed care about the fans or not.

The posts that were on his forum about the bad track markers mysteriously vanished. Good luck in getting a response to your post on there as it seems they cant take the criticism when they have screwed up.

If this forum is also censoring posts, then we're in deep trouble. I always thought that this was still a 'clean' one. I recently had similar experiences on the ZTT Blueboard forum, but for now it seems fine over there.

Personally, I'm not visiting Facebook or so, to only give likes and stupid positive compliments that are based on no real arguments to artists. I'm from a more serious generation I guess. But this is the problem that we face. Artists know that the real ' serious discussions' are on those kind of sites instead of the official websites.

If there is a problem, there has to be a discussion about it so that we can get an answer from these guys (and maybe a solution?). Seems logic to me, but in 2012 it seems harder that ever.

I replied to your post over at the HJ forum, basically agreeing with your points. I also mentioned that it seemed surprising that after such meticulous care was taken to remaster and reissue these releases, such a basic error creeped into the final product. Especially in light of of the fact that the problem has re-occured on the latest bonus disc. It is surprising that this issue has not been raised previously or generally addressed. Although my post was submitted successfuly, a message notified me that my post had to be approved by the moderator; I have yet to see my post appear.

I guess the fact that this issue hasn't been addressed isn't so surprising after all.[;)]

So it DID happen twice ?!?!?!

The problem has re-occured on the latest bonus disc ?!?!?!
Then this is by all means clear now; it's done on purpose.

I'm really flabbergasted on this ... don't know what to say ..

I just need One To One and Cross That Line. I'll wait till they show up seperately on Amazon.

They will show up on there eventually but they will be the same price as his website as he has his own store there.

A response has been posted on the forum, and I'm highly curious to know if it's legit. How many of you DID buy the previous or the new HoJo set and had issues with your bonus disc of remixes having incorrect track markers? Either this only happened to a few people, or they don't realize the extent of the problem.

There was plenty of people on his forum complaining about the issues with those bonus discs but all their posts vanished or more likely they were deleted. I posted a message over there right after yours about nobody replying to your post then tonight i went and looked again and my post had been moved down. They have got some serious issues going on over there honestly.

I ordered the previous boxset which came with the scratched up bonus disc . Luckily enough they were decent enough to send me a free replacement.

So Mr. Glen Kelly is waving the issue away with the following comment:

"We have also imported these files into logic & can clearly see clean fronts with a second of silence before audio starts & also clean end fades. May we be as bold as to suggest that you have an issue with your system!"

... as if it never exists ...

If I was a huge HoJo-fan and bought thise set last year, I'll be furious now!

The presentation is no doubt great except for the bonus discs in those flimsy cardboard sleeves . It remains to be seen how many people will notice the track marker screw ups once they receive their CDs
