You can listen to all tracks, but in order to purchase you need to register and have your registration approved, since it's mainly intended for use in media such as films etc. But we were told earlier this year that it would also be available for fans for a few months, and I emailed them this to find out more. They would have saved themselves time if they had provided information on their site...

But I wanted to let you all know that you can at least listen to the music. There are also 2-3 alternate mixes for each track (no brass etc) which you can also purchase. Lots of "tracks"!

Correction, contrary to previous indications from EM, it's not possible for private persons to purchase the tracks.

This is so unfortunate. You know, I had a feeling that this would turn out to be the case. Too bad though, because Boris Blank is an absolute genius in creating imaginative sonics. Thank you discoinfo for bringing this to our attention. At least, like you say, we can still listen to the tracks. One never knows that they might be available some day in the future. Look at the musical entity Two Steps From Hell. They compose music for film trailers and because of popular demand, they did compile and release some of their stuff, first as digital downloads, but eventially on compact disc. I can only hope that Mr. Blank will do the same one day for his loyal fan base. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Have a nice day and weekend everyone!

I hate it when artists restrict the purchase of their work to a specific few ,especially when people are willing to pay .

My guess is, this is music that Universal would not issue commercially, so the only "use" Boris would have for it is making it available for use in films and commercials. So availability is therefore subject to Extreme Music's policy, not Boris'.

then it's only a matter of time before someone's gonna rip it and put it up for downloading .

Of course. I'm not sure if EM believes that's not possible, or if they don't care. Maybe they reason, fans can listen for free online, so what would they gain by ripping? It's the same bitrate (128 kbps) so ripping does not improve the sound. What they sell is of course much higher bitrate, which is impossible to rip. Unless all fans as a group start their own production company and purchase the tracks!
