No track list is available to date.

Announced a few weeks ago on his site.

It will most likely be very similar to the previous edition, number 8 with many tracks that are already available elsewhere.

Maybe on this issue there will be something new.

Ben Liebrand looking for some help to license some Sire & Warner tracks. Somehow international licensing is not active. I guess he can't even get one of his own mixes licensed. Not sure what other ones he might be trying to get.

Cannot say that it will leave me in a state of mental turmoil, should he fail in his quest for the license....his mixes were SO SO,OK[ish] nothing more than that.

There are far better mixers/re editers/etc of 80s tracks on Soundcloud ,and also better mixers who were around in the 80s SHEP,F KERVOKIAN,W ORBIT,M KAMINS,H GOLDBERG,J LUONGO,ETC,ETC than Ben Liebrand IMHO.....[:D]

BTW.....very noble of you to leave the BL twitter page on the subject in question on this forum[;)]

Apparently you have nothing to offer.

If your head was not up you ass you would realize this series by Ben Liebrand is not about mixes “that he did”. It is almost exclusively about other peoples work, that are the roots of his career when he first started Dj-ing and restoring old material that is hard to obtain and re-releasing it. Read the liner notes and you will see he often credits other members of his profession for their talent and creativity.

http://www.liebrand.nl/grand12/6.html
http://www.liebrand.nl/grand12/7.html
http://www.liebrand.nl/grand12/8.html

If you were even remotely knowledgeable about him then you would know that a great deal of his 3 hour radio shows back in 2004 was devoted to showcasing the works of other remixers & dj’s beyond his own work. Not to mention his current weekly interview when he often mentions the output of other remixer’s and dj’s.

Don’t try to diminish his talents Ian because you don’t like me. You will make a fool of yourself. He may not be every ones cup of tea, because most of his work is centered around night club oriented dance music. I’m sure if you asked his “peers” some of whom you have mentioned, they would give him credit for what he does. I wouldn’t be surprised if behind the scenes, he has worked side by side with many of them over the years and compared notes and consulted with each other.

Ian, just imagine if you had one tenth of one % of “Ben Liebrand’s” talent. Then you would not have to go around and take other peoples remixes and edit them down and use the “creative parts of the remixes that you (can not & could not) do on your own” and put your ?? name on them to create the appearance that you did them as [Spiral Tribe Mixes] .... what a ####ing joke. I'm sure at the real Spiral Tribe http://www.spiral-tribe.org/ they are beating down the doors to get a hold of you for some more Creedence Clearwater Revival edits & Fantasy Island - Tight Fit remixes.

Speaking of dropping links …… have you ever looked at your own signature?

You should have put (famous) Dj. Markus Schulz on your list. http://www.markusschulz.com/ I think you like his mixes too.

I guess when you can’t find something good to nip from a remix- service label you can always start lifting them from people on You-Tube and put your so called [Spirial Tribe Extended Edit] name on it. (after a little no frills editing on audacity of course to make it look and clock in a little different)

In both cases, nothing more than taking the creative loops that some one else did and editing it a little different so you can put your name on it. I’m not impressed.

Maybe you can fool other people, to believe you’re some sort of creative talent. But with your reputation I know better.
http://www.nwoutpost.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=30572
I’m sure that if there is anything you have posted that has any degree of creativity and claim to have created it , … it most likely came from some place else, and more than likely from a remix service label with a little editing.

I’m sure you will come back and call me a cunt and an asshole along with a hundred other derogatory comments and a gigantic bull-shit story to cover your ass, as to where the creative parts of your remixes originate from “ask me if I care” > I Don't < “when I know it’s coming from a fraud".

The only thing I can agree with you on .. is .. yes there are a lot of "talented" people out there making all kinds of remixes and creative edits and some can be found on Soundcloud ... along with probably ... hundreds of other similar places, but you are not one of them.

Ha ha Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have shed loads of edits all over the net and you spotlight 2 edits that i did which are not from scratch,[considering i have done over 700 edits and for a handful not to be done from sratch,i would say thats a very small percentage,so as usual you are manipulative and misinformed in your post as per usual[:D]]

so i decided to alter them, because i didnt like them in the first place,is that not my perogative???

I altered them, removed parts, extended them in places i felt where it was deemed appropriate, suffucient enough time spent on them, for them to be called my edits, which they are....................SO FUCK YOU!!

You must have a real unhealthy obsession with BL for you to lose the plot like this Gregg.....i'm very suprised[:0]

BTW.....as usual you have contradicted yourself, did you not say in your last RANT er i mean POST,that he may not be everyones cup of tea??? i never said his mixes were rubbish,i just was never that bothered or got excited about his mixes and he is not really my cup of tea and in my opinion[YES GREG EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO ONE] i thought there were better mixers around,Hell!!! i even said his mixes were OK[ish]!!!!

But poor little GREGG decided to froth at the mouth just like a rabid animal and post his usual bile, just because someone dared to say that they werent that excited by GREGGs idol LOL[:p]

I will agree with you on one aspect of your post.....you are right i FUCKIN CANNOT STAND YOU so FUCK OFF back to that forum of yours and let all those croonies steal more links from the WWW,so they can suck up to you and kiss your arse, obviously you would like BEN LIEBRAND to do this, but i dont think that will be possible[;)]

Let's see, Magnum-Truth likes Ben Liebrand, magnum not so much ... and yeah, you don't like each other - GOT IT!

Evidently it's not just me but these cat fights are tiresome.

Just my 2¢.

Carry on.

Its no secret that i have no time at all for the author, but i will give an objective view,as BUDANIEL stated i guess it will not create much of a frenzy with the regulars on here.IMHO.......there is just one real standout track on this TORCH SONG - PREPARE TO ENERGISE,the rest are SO SO......

The missing information for that track

CD 3
04 - Sylvester - Don't Stop (Joseph Watt Remix)
Joseph Watt = Razormaid

I haven't listened to all the CD's. Only got a chance to hear some of the tracks while driving, they sound ok. (but only a casual listen)

Not a great track list, but I liked the full version of the "Goldeneye" Morales Club Mix its actually pretty much "Raze's" – "Break 4 Love" with Tina Turner on vocals.

Not much on here for New Wave fans.

I received the collection last week and I am very impressed. I do love Mr. Liebrand's commitment to quality sound and the best material. True, this isn't one for the New Wavers out there, but, like what was previously mentioned, Torch Song's "Prepare To Energize" is great having. I thought it was cool that he included the flip-side mix of the track also. A lot of excellent disco classics are here and in pristine form.

I loved Mr. Liebrand's remix of "Just Buggin" by Whistle. Extremely creative and with a variety of sounds and samples.

The really disappoitment for me was Shannon's "Give Me Tonight." It's listed to be the dub mix, but it is only the vocal version. I was absolutely crushed, as I was really salivating for this mix to be included. However, "Give Me Tonight" has never sounded better.

Again, although not New Wave, this set is really awesome, especially for those that love fantastic sound and care to the detalils. Worth picking up.

Jeffrey

P.S. Hopefully the next volume will include the dub mix!

Not that it's a rairity of any sort, but this version on volume 9 has the proper mix of Patrice Rushen's - Forget Me Nots that was advertized to be on volume one of this series.

I wonder if this was included to make up for it not being on volume one.
(maybe you will see that dub mix someday)
==============

A little bit of an oddity.

CD-1
Track
11 Godley & Creme - Cry (Extended Remix) 07:28 = The J.J. Jeczalik mix that was supposed to be on the The Art Of The 12", Volume Two. That was only just recently released itself. (Without checking this might be the only CD release of this version)

It's on the Japanese remaster of The History Mix released a few years back. It's funny how Mr Liebrand managed to get hold of the master for this when ZTT couldn't and put the wrong mix on The Art Of The 12", Volume Two.
