They have fucked up Love as well.Working In A Goldmine [sax version] doesn't appear at all on this release instead the album version is repeated on disc 2.

<br>I can't believe that they have put this glitched version out again. Doesn't anyone listen to these tracks before expecting people to pay money for them?. Horrible skip noise 22 seconds in. Excellent album HLHR is, though.

Thanks for the info. The funny thing is that I've never noticed that skip before. I must have just assumed that my CD skipped. Let me see if I can fix it ...

I've created a glitch-free WAV version, and it was very simple to do. The source is 12"/80s/2 (2005 Remaster). http://www.sendspace.com/file/hay9r3

Nice one[:)] Maybe you should send it to those muppets at Demon to show them how easily it can be done. I contacted them last week about the errors on these CD's but have yet to receive a reply.

Yep, very simply to do. There was no excuse for that glitch other than not having any quality control. Out of curiosity, is the file the exact same as the 2005 remaster featured on 12"/80s/2? Or, is it the same file with a new mastering? Regardless, do not expect to receive a reply from Demon Music Group about the errors since Demon never bothered responding to my complaint about MP3 files on "The Very Best Of Blancmange".

This reminds me of the glitch on the intro of "Girls On Film" by Duran Duran on the 2010 deluxe edition of their debut. EMI tried blaming it on tape deterioration, yet a flawless intro existed elsewhere on several recent compilation releases. They couldn't copy and paste on a flawless intro, apparently. Again, no quality control or care.

Many thanks for the upload, Bellenger1981, much appreciated!

Someone posted the moronic reply from Edsel to their complaint letter on another forum - thought I'd share:

"Dear ___,

With regards to the problem with the Oblivious 12” mix, we are still trying to source a correct version – do you know of one on a CD? The only source we have found so far is on an 80’s 12” compilation, when this arrives it may have the same fault!

Thanks for buying the records!"

Meanwhile, I received my copy of "Dreamland" and prefer the fuller, more detailed sound to the murky original. It's a little bit louder but the DR is mostly left intact. The real selling point for me is the second disc though.

Not sure why the final track on disc 2 (a live version of "Just Like The USA") had to be a rather hissy and distorted version from a Barcelona gig, which again leaves a slightly sour taste.

Good news they are sending me out a replacement second disc of Love and they admit they sourced the Oblivious Remix on High Land from 12"80's 2 as they couldn't find a proper master without the click. If anybody knows of a click version free version that was released on CD you should let them know but as far i'm aware there isn't one.

Hi Moni

When you say they have sent you a new copy of Love, does it have the Sax Version on?! Because I want one if so. Thanks in advance.

I'm confused by the response from Demon Music Group. Do they not have anyone at their label who can fix the glitch even if it is present on the master/copy that they received? I fixed the glitch myself in a matter of a few minutes. It wasn't very difficult, so why do they need to source another CD for a glitch-free version? Also, why are they sourcing from another CD anyway? Is this legal? Do they need the permission of Family Recordings/Universal (the label which issued the 12"/80s/2 collection) for the track? I will be more than happy to send Demon my fixed copy of "Oblivious [12" Mix]" in WAV (note, not MP3, lol) for fixed pressings of the disc.

Makes me wonder what kind of ads they place when looking for new people to hire for CD manufacturing. "At least some experience and knowledge about sound mastering preferred, but not required"...?

With a relatively simple program it's a matter of a minute or so to remove (edit out) parts, even milli seconds. /JW

Exactly. Now they have to spend money in sending out free, fixed replacement discs. Unfortunately, it seems like Demon or one of its subsidiary labels happens to be doing this quite a bit. Wouldn't it be worth having quality control in the long run rather than having to fix and re-press new discs? If the budget isn't there for quality control, I'm sure that fans would be willing to give feedback for free -- whether it's listening, editing, or suggestions.
