LIPPS INC. "MOUTH TO MOUTH" on CD

With four single versions as bonus
http://www.cherryred.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=3805

It was only available on a very rare Japanese CD until now.
But what about the original 1979 version" of Rock It?

As far as I know, the album version is 5:40min. The shorter single version will be included also. Is there another version of it ?!

I did some checking, seems this is where to get it the cheapest:

http://www.wowhd.co.uk/CD/lipps-inc-mou ... 67#bc=25a0

(Because they have 15% off today and tomorrow.)

If you find it cheaper, please post it here.

<br>Yes, see my discography (link in my first post).
On the other hand, it's included on the first compilation CD (FUNKYWORLD).

Thanks for that info. I just read the liner notes from the Funkyworld collection (which I bought in 1996!) and there it was, I forgot about that. I think I'll keep that CD.

Hi Jonas,

Did I get you right that the demo version of Rock It (6.12) is included on the Funkyworld compilation?
I ask because discogs.com shows 5.40 min for this song. http://www.discogs.com/Lipps-Inc-Funkyw ... ter/471513

And I couldn't find this compilation in your discography ; )

Thanks for pointing it out. Strange, it says in the liner notes of the 1992 CD "Three cuts from MOUTH are included here: Rock-It (the original Flight label version), Funkytown and All Night Dancing". In this case I did the main discography before I could check the original 12" from 1979, this was before its entry at discogs.com I believe. It is 5.39 indeed. Discogs.com says 6.12 for that release. So either Martin Keller made a mistake in his liner notes, or someone sent the wrong tapes, or the duration on the vinyl single is wrong, or Steven Greenberg changed his mind at the last minute and used the album version instead, or maybe both versions are equally long only slightly different mixes, or.... who knows? /JW

I have now updated my discog to include the CDs, as well as correcting some durations, and while doing that I discovered the 12" version of How Long (not on CD) as well as an unknown shorter version of On To You. And some other details few people will probably notice. /JW

PS I also have a Russian CD, and while it looks more or less official, I will not include it since I'm not sure. Strangely it conatins two full albums (the first and the third) plus two bonus tracks one of which is the Remix of Designer Music.

By the way, I have been offered 25 Euro for my very rare Japanese MOUTH TO MOUTH CD. It's not available at all at eBay or even Amazon. I am not sure.... would YOu sell it for 25 Euro?

It will be interesting to see if the first beat of Funkytown will finally be restored on a CD version.

The original 12" version oddly started on the second beat. It was okay on Grand 12 Inches volume 1.

That's because Ben Liebrand fixed the beat as it wasn't on the original version. Again, I must mention, that these Grand 12-inches compilations are so worth the money.

CD arrived just now. Nice "round-edged" jewel case. Nice thick booklet filled with text and photos. The sound sounds just fine to me. Only thing missing is the demo version, plus the instrumental version of Rock It (which I didn't know about).

You can order it from Amazon UK here

I believe there are, or will be, used copies cheaper as well.
