Just read the directions here for joining: http://www.geocities.com/natephish/hub.html

You don't need to use that password I gave you.

I'm still banned for some reason..oh well...I dont remember the resolution to this a long while back when I first joined

It asked for a password continually for awhile.I know from more recent threads here no password is required now.I downloaded and installed DC++ 0.673 . I've tried active and passive mode to no avail..still banned ?

Try using a different username. I checked the logs, you're not banned or suspended, I just don't understand it.

Well, I'm at a loss myself. I re-installed DC++ using "Bowiepinup" instead of "Bowiestation" when asked for a username. Hey, this for some reason just may not work for me. I'm unsure if I did something wrong.I thought I followed the directions exactly. Thanks for your help but I may have to give this up Nate.

Is there anything on the hub software thing you have that has a collection of usernames? If so, can it be flushed out? That seems to be where everyone's running into a wall. All the original usernames we used require a password we don't remember or know. Set 'em free!

I still can barely get a file list from anyone, but that has to be my end that's doing that. I'm gonna do my best to open a port on the firewall, and tell DC++ to just go through that port.

Yes British, there is a way to clear a username from the database. I have done that with Bowiestation's username, that's why I can't understand why he is still banned. As for your connection problem, yes, you need to forward a port, then switch DC++ to active, enter your IP and the port you are forwarding. That will let you get search results and downloads from all users, both active and passive.

I re-loaded DC ++ again late last night in passive mode and it worked...go figure.

I can use it in passive mode but found out from Nate you cannot connect to other passive users. I do not have a router. When I check "active" and only put in my ip address I cannot connect to anyone. Any suggestions ?

Hey gang..........now that I've downloaded 2,000 of these incredible tunes.....any suggestions on the easiest way to copy them for protection? (and remember I'm a techno dunce!). I would die if something happened & I lost these songs.

Can I copy onto a data disc or something? Thanks!

Hello new to the group and I am interested in joining the hub. I have downloaded the software and installed it per the instructions provided at http://www.geocities.com/natephish/hub.html , but I cannot connect, I get the following error
"<Hub-Security> This hub is running PtokaX DC Hub 0.3.2.6 TestDrive 4 (UpTime: 61 hours, 58 minutes)
*** Disconnected"
I tried a different user name and that did not work. Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure you've set your shared files to consist of a minimum of 1 gigabyte. If you don't have at least 1 gigabyte shared, you won't be able to join the hub.
