Only only downside with these two were the "period" mixes

<br>good selection Sensoria we obviously have a lot of similar tastes

Two i missed out on that I have really enjoyed are

The Mood Singles

Human League / Future Golden hour of the future

And here are a few wishes that would probably enter my list if someone would do them

Kissing the Pink singles / 12"'s
Fiat Lux Singles / 12"'s
Erasure the 12" mixes
Dead or Alive the 12" mixes
B-Movie the some bizarre years
Marc almond 12" / 7" collection (including some of the more obscure mixes of ruby red and love letters etc
Kraftwerk the singles / 12"

[/quote]

Thank you, thunderbird2 matey. Yes, we certainly do. Your list seemed a good model for mine, just in case I miss something like Echo & The Bunnymen's both, "Songs To Learn & Sing" (1985) and "Ballyhoo - The Best Of Echo & The Bunnymen" (1997) and the Style Council's "The Singular Adventures Of The Style Council - Greatest Hits Vol.1" (1989) that also make it. The Human League's "The Golden Hour Of The Future" (2002) is there as well.

As for the 12"/remix compilations, my list would be looking something like this:

The Art Of Noise - The Best Of The Art Of Noise (Art Works 12") (1988)
Blondie - Beautiful-The Remix Album (1995)
Bronski Beat - Hundreds & Thousands (1985)
Cabaret Voltaire - The Original Sound Of Sheffield '83/'87 (2001)
The Cure - Mixed Up (1990)
Depeche Mode - Remixes 81-04 (2004)
Duran Duran - Strange Behaviour (1999)
Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Reload-The Whole 12 Inches (1994)
Kraftwerk - The Mix (1991)
The League Unlimited Orchestra (The Human League) - Love And Dancing (1982)
Madonna - You Can Dance (1987)
New Order - ? (The Rest Of) New Order (1995)
Pet Shop Boys - Disco (1986)
Pet Shop Boys - Disco 2 (1994)
Spandau Ballet - The Twelve Inch Mixes (1986)
The Stranglers - All Twelve Inches (1992)
Talk Talk - 12x12 Original Remixes (1999)
The Thompson Twins - The Best Of Thompson Twins: Greatest Mixes (1988)
Kim Wilde - The Remix Collection (1993)

There is a few more, of course but that's all I could think of right now.

Yes, if you look them in the compilations context indeed. I don't have any problem with "period" mixes as standout alone tracks or in another context at all, though.

<br>I totally agree with New Order's "Substance." Only wish it could be remastered with all the flaws taken out.

I agree with so many of your lists guys. Would only add Yello's "New Mix In One Go" as a definite favorite for me.

I wonder if, with successfull lobbying, we can get a remastered version of Substance? I have the import cassette on Factory (what visually appealling, distinct cassette packages they put out) and I'd love to see this version, with edits corrected to original form, finally released. This can easily be a triple disc set.

And I would keep Murder on the Singles disc as this was officially released on Factory Benelux as a single.

Talking about the RAH Band, isn't it time to do those albums in 2-CD expanded editions ?! I certainly hope this is going to be reality next year. Edsel ?! Cherry Pop ?!

Top 10 for me:

New Order - Substance (1987)
Joy Division - Substance (1988)
Soft Cell - The Very Best Of (2002)
The Cure - Greatest Hits (2002)
The The - 45 RPM (2002)
Pet Shop Boys - Discography (1991)
Roxy Music - The Very Best Of Brian Ferry & Roxy Music (1995)
Eagles - The Complete Greatest Hits (2003)
Santana - Moonflower (1977)
RAH Band - Greatest Hits (1995)

It certainly is as it's the only album re-released in the UK is The Crunch & Beyond. Not very good nor did it contain much in the way of extras.

They have been released on CD in Japan (and Mystery was released originally on CD in the UK but never re-released) but are available as downloads in the west and poor-sounding ones at that. Stick to the ones on the blogs as they're free.

A boxet of the singles would be interesting but certainly not feasible.

Cherry Pop is the most likeliest of choices but the red tape surrounding the releases may have put them off (the albums were released on three different labels).

It's a bit of a minefield for them I think, because so many different (sub-)labels were involved: RCA, DJM Records, TMT Records, Toolboxx Records, S.O.U.N.D. Records, Good Earth, Disques Vogue etc.

I never saw RAH Band blogs. Wish I stumble upon a couple.

Richard Hewson deserves much more credit than he gets nowadays.

So many labels and finding a clear starting place is very difficult. No-one is going to touch his output with a barge pole.

A search for 'rah band blog' shows the first result is by Saltyka which will help you in that area.

Yeah, I saw that blog recently. It's the best that's around I guess.

The information is awesome, but sadly the audio files are of debateable quality.

[:)] thanks anyway.

I agree but not a position to pick and choose.

You're welcome. :)
