Reissue Wish List 2013

Postby Rubellan » Mon Jan 07, 2013 2:31 am

The Classix Nouveaux - Secret CD is just a repressing of the original CD from 2006. I did provide them a new master years ago, though it was around the time I had a falling out with Alex Ogg, who I had been working with on most of the CD projects I did for Cherry Red, so I don't know if that master was ever used for anything. The original CD was a poor vinyl transfer.

And how about a remaster Pete Shelley "Heaven And The Sea" with Remixes and B-sides? My ancient CD is tarnished

This would really be a "dream come true" [:p]
Unfortunately they only remastered "Steve McQueen"...

I've got the Wounded Bird issue but I like a decent version of Modern Romance's Adventures In Clubland, with all the extra Geoff Deane era singles, 12" mixes etc added.

Same goes for the Trick Of The Light album which was only released on CD in Japan (without bonus tracks) and not on the Wounded Bird label in 2008.

I still can't believe there aren't deluxe reissues of INXS' Shabooh Shoobah and The Swing AND Dekadance

They are too busy recycling Kick every couple of years to bother with their other albums.

I too would love reissues of Shabook Shoobah and The Swing, with bonus tracks.

There were 2 different versions of 'dekadance' released. The US version featured 4 remixes from Shabooh Shoobah, while the OZ (released on cassette and promo only vinyl) featured remixes & alternate versions from The Swing.

IS THAT THE TWELVE INCH MIX ? Out late 2010 www.robgrillo.co.uk

This is a fun topic!

Here's what I'd like to see...

Philip Jap - Philip Jap (with b-sides and maybe a dvd of his BBC show and David Essex performances)

Blue Zoo - 2x2 (on their website they say an entirely different album was submitted to their record company, some of the tracks surfaced as b-sides, or on their sort of 2nd LP, it would be great to restore that album as a bonus disc)

Space Monkey - On The Beam (w/ b-sides and remixes)

Hambi And The Dance - Heartache (w/ b-sides and remixes... why this isn't on CD is a mystery to me, one of the most perfect albums of the 80's. Everyone I've played it for is impressed.)

Lelo - Lelo (w/ bonus singles... I just discovered this band, they're great, sort of like a Buggles/Vapors hybrid. There's a link to their album in the Obscure 80's Central forum)

Dekka Danse - Waltz In The Wilderness (w/ bonus singles, b-side and remixes)

Scary Theives - Scary Thieves (w/ bonus remixes and b-sides... their scandal must've cooled down by now. Are they still blackballed?)

Search Party - Unreleased LP. (w/ Bonus remixes) The never before released Search Party album exists. Entirely produced by Tony Mansfield. What I'd give to hear it.

Limahl - Colour All My Days (w/ bonus remixes... this is on iTunes, but I'd love a CD to go with my Don't Suppose... CD)

Animal Magnet - Anthology I'm hoping there's enough unreleased Animal Magnet material to make up a CD. Their 3 singles are wonderful.

Cava Cava - Cava Cava (w/ bonus remixes and b-sides... cuz.... why not?)

Those French Girls - Those French Girls (i don't think they had any b-sides or mixes, but demos, bbc sessions... anything. This is a great album. I wish there was more!)

I'm sure there's more but that's enough daydreaming for now. I feel like the likelyhood of any of those being released (except for maybe Limahl) is very slim. But here's to hoping!

When I interview the lead singer of Blue Zoo he said that the band had no knowledge of the "second" album at the time and only found out later. To say they were brassed off about it would be putting it mildly. It would be great to hear the unreleased tracks but there's little chance of it.

Scary Thieves? More chance of Empire's album getting a proper release. As far as I know they are still person non grata.

Empire? I don't think I know them. What's the story there?

Scary Thieves being persona non grata, do you think that still extends to places like Cherry Red or Wounded Bird?
