Big Echo fan that I am I never heard the Lips Like Sugar remix until most recently. I can't say that I'm a fan. For me, it adds nothign to the song. I do like the "all night" mix of Killing Moon and pretty much every Depeche Mode remix. This one leaves me cold, however.

I thought it was a terrific remix, at least for dance clubs which it was intended for. And as a club DJ back in the day, it had such stomp, a great opening buildup and a kicking breakdown -- it was always a floorpacker for me.
The All Night mix of "Killing Moon" does a great job of extending and enhancing the atmospherics of the original. So aesthetically, I see your point...it was not designed to be a "dance" version.

I'm not a huge fan of the last album-it's okay-but I think it's their weakest, by far.
I kinds wished they would have packed it in after Ocean Rain.
