Yeah, I saw that. :( I guess it's still POSSIBLE that there might be a DVD included, maybe even an amazon.uk exclusive like with the Kirsty McColl set.

Then again, there's not much Electronic video content that hasn't already been released, unless there's footage of the Dodger Stadium concert sitting in a vault somewhere...

Dodger Stadium exists afaik only as audio - as written above, the whole set of Cities In The Park was proshot + should exist in the vaults. So, contentwise it wouldn't be a problem to fill up a dvd - add the videos and BBC TV appearances (Top Of The Pops) + a little interviews with Marr + Sumner these days and it would have been a good release... as said, not gonna happen. Bollocks!

I was hoping that they come to terms with that ridiculous 2-CD tracklisting and would do a proper 3-CD set, but hey ... so much for hoping.

I'm very sad about this as well. Plus 16.99 GBP is very steep for a 2CD set these days. The new Simple Minds 3CD comp is only 12.99.

Received my copy today . Feel ripped off. The 1994 remaster is just as good. The extra bonus disc was poorly compiled. The 12" mix of GAWI is sorely missed.

I can't believe the 12" mix of their biggest hit isn't on the 2nd disc - pretty lame.

I received this reissue in the mail today and immediately put my own CD-R together with this tracklisting...

1. Idiot Country (2013 remaster)
2. Reality (2013 remaster)
3. Tighten Up (2013 remaster)
4. Getting Away with It (2013 remaster)
5. Patience of a Saint (2013 remaster)
6. Gangster (2013 remaster)
7. Soviet (2013 remaster)
8. Get the Message (2013 remaster)
9. Try All You Want (2013 remaster)
10. Some Distant Memory (2013 remaster)
11. Feel Every Beat (2013 remaster)
12. Lucky Bag (“Getting Away with It” maxi single)
13. Free Will Extended Mix (“Get the Message" single)
14. Lean to the Inside (2013 remaster)
15. Second to None (“Feel Every Beat” single)
16. Disappointed 7" single (2013 remaster)

This was a good way to combine the pleasing new remaster of the original album with the irreplaceable versions of the B-sides from the original CD singles.
Ahhhhhh....memories.

When I bought the original CD in 1991, I quickly decided that the best moment on the album was the final minute of "Some Distant Memory."

I still feel that way right now.

That's totally true! I mean, almost nobody uses an oboe in the instrumentation of a pop album. It's such a nice instrument. Lovely.

I would be quite content with a CD filled with remixes of Idiot Country. That song was such a strong album opener.

Currently £11.51 for the 23 track 2 cd set. Not too bad?
