Overplayed song, overrated band (Dirty Looks do the same thing better). If it had been a relatively obscure single, then I'll bet it would have been higher.
Agreed, Dirty Looks are great. You can purchase the "Complete Stiff Years - Dirty Looks / Turn It Up" mp3 on Amazon or iTunes.

Deevo0, thanks for all of those stats. Good stuff.
Only problem is I thought of about a dozen more favorites after I submitted my vote.

I have the Dirty Looks CD! If I had my picks to do over, I would have put one in. What are your other favorites?

Good picks. Love that Dirty Looks song.
I like The Flys too.
Oh shoot, I totally forgot The Soft Boys... I might have considered Kingdom of Love or Queen of Eyes.

Power-pop is a great genre for crate-digging. So much good stuff never got much attention.

"Zero Hour" is a great song. It definitely deserves a place.

p.s. Did you submit a top 10? If not, think about doing it. The more results, the better.

Sally, you sound like a PP expert. And I totally agree about the crate-digging. In my experience, there are more never-on-CD records in power pop than in any other 80s new wave/postpunk subgenre. I have a Bram album that I'm thinking of ripping and sharing.
I'm not a PP expert by any stretch. Probably 90% of the people who frequent this site are bigger music nerds than me. If you stick around here long enough, you'll find lots of rare gems. For PP, there have been a handful of blogs which I've followed which have done most of the crate-digging for me.

The Bram album sounds great. I remember having to order Strange Man, Changed Man through the mail a decade ago.

I forgot to mention another great power-pop band out of Canada that I only learned about last year. The band is Klaatu, and they put out a handful of records in the mid 70's and early 80's.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klaatu_(band)

Their first release 3:$7 EST is absolutely worth checking out (the follow-up Hope ain't bad either).
