Finally. Numan has been my fav artist for many years. 'Splinter' was first announced about 2007/2008 and first due about 2009!

Lol yeah i read the interview took quite long but worth it. I note he states next one could be out in 18 months so early 2015. Mark my words here and now, it won't. He never learns about talking about new albums. Splinter not even out and he mentions the next one. Ridiculous. Whatever his excuse every album since Exile has suffered huge delays compared with his original forcasts leading to much frustration to fans. I thought he would've finally learnt after 'Splinter' but clearly not. He also didn't use 'Dead son rising' / 'Dead Moon falling' as an excuse and doesn't even mention them which does really surprise me! He even mentioned many more projects one example being a Guilfest DVD about 6 years ago. Heard NOTHING since

In software they call this "vaporware": touting software that has not yet been created. I guess the Numan equivalent are "vaportracks."

I'm hoping that since Numan now lives in LA he'll tour the USA more frequently. If I can get it together, I'm planning to see him at the electronic music festival in Asheville.

He's great live but i wish he wouldn't do bloody 'Down in the park' at every show and even 'Cars' at most. I will see him promoting 'Splinter' in October i think at 'The Roundhouse'.

I've never seen him live so I'm looking forward to it. I must admit to hoping he plays some of his older material, including "Are friends electric," even though he is so anti-retro. I'd take "I die you die" and "We are glass" over "Park" and "Cars."

I've had the album 4 days played it about a dozen times start to finish. It's his best yet IMHO and i have them all and been a fan since '87. 4 stars in Q and 5 stars in Classic pop (the best review in this issue of the once every two months magazine).

The album debuted at its UK#20 peak. His best UK chart placing since 1983's "Warriors" which peaked #12.
