Fiction Factory Throw The Warped Wheel Out reissue

Fiction Factory Throw The Warped Wheel Out reissue

The Scottish band's 1984 debut is being reissued by Cherry Red Records in a special edition with 9 bonus tracks on September 23rd.
The album failed to chart in the UK despite including the hit-single "(Feels Like) Heaven" which peaked at #6.
Other singles taken off it were "Ghost Of Love" (#64) and "All Or Nothing".

Would have ruled if they had made it a 2-disc set and included the Another Story album with bonus tracks as disc 2. Hopefully Cherry Red will bring that one to CD as well.

Another Story out again would be great. "Time Is Right" in my opinion off this release is their best song.

I agree. I emailed Cherry Red a while back and they replied that both albums will be reissued eventually. Maybe Another Story is slated for early next year.

1. (FEELS LIKE) HEAVEN
2. HEART AND MIND
3. PANIC
4. THE HANGING GARDENS
5. ALL OR NOTHING
6. HIT THE MARK
7. GHOST OF LOVE
8. TALES OF TEARS
9. THE FIRST STEP
10. THE WARPED WHEEL
BONUS TRACKS
11. GHOST OF LOVE (SPECIAL DANCE MIX)
12. THE OTHER SIDE OF GREY
13. OLD GAME BLUE FLAME
14. (FEELS LIKE) HEAVEN (12" VERSION)
15. EVERYONE BUT YOU
16. THIS IS
17. ALL OR NOTHING (EXTENDED VERSION)
18. DREAMING OF SOMEONE
19. I WHO KNOW YOU

This is a welcome reissue, 'Another Story' would be great too, if it comes off and Cherry Red have put some great stuff out recently with China Crisis & Microdisney, but where is 'Rise & Fall' on this release? This was included on a previous CD version and was included on a free 12" with the original vinyl.

I've got the german CD which had TOTWW plus 4 b-sides and sounded better. So I'd be getting the new CD for 2 more b-sides and 3 x 12" mixes. Should I get the new one? Yes, of course, but just keeping the other one just in case. Oh, and for the perpetual moaners, they've only included one 12" mix of Ghost of Love, so this is a great opportunity missed. Total load of shit ;-)

That's maybe because of time restrictions on a CD.

Got my cd today. It's very well done in terms of remastering. No loudness whatsoever . If there's any vinyl transfers i couldn't tell.

I have a copy of Another Story's CD that was issued by Instant Records and it sounds really good. There's a big chance they'd use that CD for the re-issue (if ever), but I am hoping they also throw in some bonus tracks.

The mixes of ghost of love and feels like heaven arent the usual ones to my ears, are they re-remixes?

The ext. mix of Ghost Of Love runs at 5:16min. This special mix on the cd is 4:52min. Maybe it's an edit. There's only one ext. mix for Feels Like Heaven which runs at 5:53min to my knowledge ,unless some promo US version exists.

The version on the CD is the special dance mix which was differrent to the normal extended mix , i think it is a good version , I was only aware of 1 12" version of feels like heaven though

Oh dear! Speaking about his "Ghost of Love (Special Dance Mix)" posting on his www.burningtheground.net site, DJPaulT says: "Cherry Pop has released the bands debut album on CD and included these tracks. However as is the case with many of their releases the remaster is sub-par and the tracks are sourced from vinyl"[:0]
