Great Sensoria, can you tell me how big the audio track is on the video? 192 kbps or 256 or 1536 (PCM). How does the video look on the promos? Compare to original VHS/LD?
[8D]Thanks
Elvis

P.S. You would need to play them on your computer/DVD player to see the information on your media player. Or rip to hard drive and look at in Adobe? Is software programs that also read the data.Or put the disc in your dvd player in your computer. Open up the vob files and right click on an active vob file, open properties, look under the tab details.

You're welcome again, Elvis! Alright, it says the audio track on the video is 128 Kbps (Uses about 56 MB per CD). But you can adjust it to the Smallest Size (48 Kbps i.e. Uses about 22 MB per CD) or Best Quality (192 Kbps i.e. Uses about 86 MB per CD) too, of course.
The video quality is excellent. I got to see some colours I didn't see on the original VHS/LD at all. HDMI cable is a must-have if you want to watch it even clearer than it already is. There you go!

Thanks again, Sensoria. About what I expected on the sound quality of the video, compressed 192 2 channel. I take it you mean DVD when you say CD. Good to hear the video is clean. Worth it. Can always redo the videos with LPCM.

Yep. I meant DVD when I said CD indeed. You'll enjoy the box-set A LOT when you finally get it and won't regret any single thing. For me, it is a reissue of the decade, if not the century as well. Thank you so much, Richard H. Kirk!
Do Right, damn right!!!

Okay, the price of the CD/DVD only box (here in U.S.) set just came down here on Amazon to 117.91, with a release date of 12-17. If I wasn't such a huge Cab fan I wouldn't do it at this price. But I am, and I've bitten. Good chance I can unload this for all $$ back after copy.

Elvis: The bonus music videos are VERY disappointing. I am very inclined the write Richard and the persons involved in the remastering (if they were even remastered) of these videos. Other than that, superb box set!

All the best,

Well that didn't take long, to get only what really counts from the collection 8385.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Drinking-Gasoli ... taire+8385

CD/DVD of Drinking Gasoline only, plus you get the extra promos just like on 8385.

The 6CD/2DVD edition of the box-set is all sold out on all - Amazon UK, Amazon US and Amazon Germany.
So the only chance left to buy it is on Amazon Canada where it will be released on January 7th.

Yeah, they are already pre-selling the next batch, 8385, on U.S. Amazon. No rush. I find it humorous the way they pumped up the release and then tried to create demand for a seemingly limited supply. When has Cabaret Voltaire ever had a release such as this? If it's anything like previous releases it will be had for much cheaper with plenty of inventory.

I find it humorous too! I mean, Cabaret Voltaire have never reached big album sales during their lifespan. But now when this box-set came out, it was all sold out in less than two months regardless of its high price, Amazon-wise.
