Sean, please be so kind to tell Stacey that she has devoted fans in cold, snowy Russia too and pass on to her our best wishes and admiration. And big cheers for her contributions to the 80s! Not to mention her stunningly good looks...[8)][:I]

<br>Hi Cory. I ride on the train with Stacey a lot of times and she mentioned to me that Jon and her plan to release Playback on cd. I just talked to her like a week ago and she said this is in the works but didn't give me an eta. Hopefully it is soon. Just curious, how many of you in are actually interested in buying this album on cd? I, for one, would probably get a few copies. [:D]

I would not hesitate one single moment to buy SSQ's "Playback" on CD! I bought the 7" of "Synthicide" and the 12" of "Big Electronic Beat" back in 1984, but "Playback" was never in any of my local stores back then. I finally bought a copy about 10yrs ago and could not believe how AWESOME it was! Gorgeous minimalistic synthpop, and Stacey's vocals are pristine.

Passing_Stranger's suggested tracklist is nearly perfect. However, I would recommend including BOTH the original 1983 Enigma version of "Synthicide" (which appeared on the "Greatest Hits" CD), as well as the even better 1984 7" remix (which appeared on the EMI re-release of "Playback").

You should provide Stacey with a link to this exact posting so she can see how excited we are about this!

I usually upload the photo to TinyPic.com, then embed the image using the IMG tag:

Great Thread! Brings back some fond memories of the eighties.

@ Sean It's really cool that you know her in person.

Reading this makes me want to dig out the old VHS tapes and watch Cavegirl, if I only still had a VHS player.

On a trivial note, I was just watching the movie Cavegirl in a 12-movie 80s comedy DVD collection I have, and it opens with Synthicide and closes with Anonymous, and Jon St. James is credit as doing the music for the movie.

Cool, but is this an actual re-mastered copy of the album, or just a vinyl rip? A friend of mine who's on this board actually takes the train with Stacey on the way to work, and he specifically asked her if there was any plans to re-mastered and properly release her album, and she didn't mention anything about this, which leads me to believe that this is just a vinyl rip, which I already own. Would love to see a full CD release with liner notes, photos, etc...in fact, a double CD release with the SSQ and Jon St. James albums together would be awesome! :)
