Shriekback - what's the deal ... ?

NOT ONE SINGLE CHARTED IN AMERICA,

Okay I understand the band is from the UK but look at how they did over there ... this is pathetic and mind boggling and the same time

Here's the ONE single that charted, "Hand On My Heart" reaching a lousy 52, this doesn't make sense?

Where is "My Spine (Is The Bass Line)", "Accretions", "Nemesis"

Yet we have Toto Coelo reaching #8 and "Great Balls Of Fire" by Tiny Tim charting in the UK

There is a long, long, loooong list of bands held in high esteem here that never charted one single in America. Shriekback had so few singles released here that they didn't really have many opportunities to...

And, no, it doesn't make sense that "Hand on My Heart" was the only U.K. chart hit. What a forgettable song.

Shriekback only got play on "alternative" stations here in the US. "Lined Up" "Nemesis" and "Gunning For The Buddha" were all staples on WLIR-FM, but unlike other nuggets unearthed by WLIR, never got picked up by "mainstream" Top 40.
