The Flute

Postby tileboy » Thu Oct 26, 2006 9:22 am

I was listening to Love and Rockets "Earth,Sun ,Moon" the other night and when "No New Tale to Tell" came on ,there it was,a flute solo. I hadn't really noticed it before,or given it much thought, but it sounds great in the middle of that song.
I was just wondering if any other NW artists used the flute on a regular basis or otherwise, I really can't think of any?

One Night In Bangkok - Murray Head

Cool flute line, even had the frills and rasps notes...

The Special AKA - Free Nelson Mandela

Great flute line!

I know there are more, just drawing a blank right now.

<p align="justify">Wasn't Johnny Marr the flute-player in "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out"? Originally, that part was intended to be guitar. I wonder how that would sound. It would add novelty to the old song[:)]

Good call Decappe..."On Tuesday" is a totally underrated tune by Men Without Hats, and the flute adds a very cool twist to it! For those of you who only know "The Safety Dance" , check this tune out.
