Pinoy New WaveCompilation

Postby campoxanto » Tue Nov 07, 2006 5:16 pm

Please help me find a copy of these albums:

10 of Another Kind
Subterranean Romance
Chemical Wedding - Dean's December

I have a Nu rock compilation featuring the Happy Shrimps, Animo and some other obscure late 80s new wave pinoy bands.

Aside from what I mentioned,is there any other Pinoy New Wave/Modern Rock compilation that I should know about?

Thank you.

please check my new wave inspired songs at soundclick thanx

HI KABAYAN! Fortunately, I have all the Pinoy New Wave Compilation albums that you've mentioned! Are you from MANILA? There are lots of other Pinoy New Wave/Punk Compilation albums I have aside from these. They are mostly under the Pinoy legendary record label TWISTED RED CROSS by TOMMY T.(former manager of INTROVOYS). These are definitely rare stuffs that I've acquired through the decades.Mostly played on WXB102 era (1985-87).

Yo Kabayan. Good thing to hear rom another Filipino. Hmmmm... from your list, i only have the 10 of Another Kind and NU Rock the Album. Both on cassette aside from Identity Crisis.

Now, what youre looking for is hard to find nowadays. Good luck finding them. Try along Quiapo area. They sell second hand CD's and Cassettes. [:)]

Incidentally, im also looking (if there is any) for any song by Nursery Rhymes, Mere Mercy and Runaway Boys in any compilation.

Hi Doc, I'm from Tacloban City, Leyte. Hopefully we can meet sometime. In the mid 80s, the Visayas also had its share of independent new wave scenes. In Cebu there was 40theband. They released an album titled The Persistenece of Time. In fact Sheila and the Insects openly acknowledges 40 as an influence. There was also "The Ire", a band that was heavily influenced by U2. Etu, a solo artist that dabbled in Synth Pop and other acts like Medusa Taciturn. They got exposure through a compilation album called New Cebu Music I and New Cebu Music II. In Bacolod, there was the Case of the Missing Bottles and here in Tacloban we had My Weeping Days that did what was then called as college rock.

Anyway I'm also looking for that 40theband album.

Thanks

empy, these stuffs are even hard to find. I have almost all TWISTED RED CROSS series remastered on CD and all the stuffs campoX mentioned. YUP!! Nursery Rhymes, Mere Mercy, and Runaway Boys are all XB102 kids. They were very active in the concert circuit when XB102 was still alive. In my knowledge, they have no official album released during the XB days. That's the sad part, but I know the band members themselves kept some demos and that's the only one we could have. I don't know what happened to Mere Mercy's lead vocalist "RAY DECAY" or any other members of these great FILIPINO NEW WAVE BANDS.

Sorry guys, I can't be of much help there.

Just recently, I got hold of some local goodies including The Youth's "Album na walang Pamagat" and WUDS' "At Nakalimutan ang Diyos" (which I used to have on cassette tapes back then). Classic!
