No Wave, Very Early Hip-Hip, JM Basquiat, and...

I'm as fanatical about New York No Wave and the early days of hip hop--the whole Max's, Danceteria scene--and am curious if anyone has anything really obscure to share. Maybe we could shed some light on some rare stuff, and some info about this time in NW history. E.S.G. and Liquid Liquid are awesome and probably represent this style best. I also consider Talking Heads a product of this time. Also, does anyone know if Jean-Michael Basquiat produced anything other Rammellzee Vs. K-Rob's "Beat Bop"? Awesome and odd record. Plus--now here's an obscurity--Kim Fields (yes, Tootie) made a record in the early 80s called "Dear Michael". It had an awesome backbeat for such a simple, novelty song. Might anyone have that to post here.

Shox Lumania/Man Parrish/Klaus Nomi/Richard Bone all ran in the same circles. You might want to look into that if you haven't already.

Also Robin Crutchfield from DNA went solo with his project Dark Day. The records are really expensive when you find them but they are really cool electronic songs.

Into all those names you mentioned, especially Klaus Nomi. Wish he had a lot more material to share with us. I'm really curious to see where his career would have taken him. To me he was the Jimmy Scott of his time--having a voice that really made you listen because it didn't seem like it should be coming from that body.
