Blondie - Eat To The Beat

Great album, my question is how is the sound quality on the 2001 remaster, also is there any other current remaster I should be aware of? What is the best to pick up, as my cassette version is wearing on me

Definitely get the remaster, as it has bonus tracks, 2 of which are their version of "Heroes" (originally a b-side, if I'm not mistaken), and their version of "Ring of Fire" (originally off the "Roadie" soundtrack). Both are recorded live, but it's worth having them for sure if you're a Blondie completist. I thought the remaster sounded fine, but as I've said before, I don't have that discerning an ear like some of our other members do. But really, devomaniac, it's long overdue for you to upgrade from that cassette, don't you think? [:)]

What ever you do, don't buy the original cd release. The sound quality is not great & it's mixed very, very low. I rarely listen to it because I have to turn the stereo up so high just to hear it. The original does not have any bonus tracks, that's how you can tell to stay away from it.

Heroes is a b-side from the Atomic 12" - (not an extended 12" remix of Atomic though - just a 12 inch release of the single. Heroes is pretty great. Robert Fripp plays on it. It was taken from a Hammersmith Oden concert around 79 or 80 that was broadcast on the King Biscuit Flour Hour.
