Morrissey's 'Years of Refusal' is pretty damn good

I haven't really tuned into anything Morrissey-related since the late 80's, so I don't really consider myself a fan of his solo material.

Having said that, though, I think the new 'Years of Refusal' is remarkable. It has a lot of brash percussion and Johnny Marr-style guitars. It's the first time I've been crooning Smith's-like songs in two decades.

Definitely worth checking out.

Thanks for the review, Sally. I am definitely looking more forward to this latest release than anything he's done in the past fifteen years. What a triumphant year this is turning out to be for New Wave. The new Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys previews sound amazing.

I like it better than the last one, probably not as much as "You Are The Quarry". LOVE THE SINGLE. I'm sortof a 70's glam dude, so I love his Ronson/Hunter inspired stuff. "First Of The Gang To Die" just sends me!!! I believe his current chief-c0-conspirator, Boz Borrer, used to work with Adam Ant. I always tell my hard rocker friends who think they love glam but hate Morrissey, they're simply wrong. He's also responsible for the reconstituted NY Dolls, who've written at least seven stunners over two albums. Solid gold classics! Thank You Morrissey. All we need is you!
