Has this been discussed before? I'm too lazy to do a search.
In any case, I thought this could be a fun topic. Ever see anything silly or ridiculous at a concert? Sure, there's the typical annoying/rude concert goers, the people wearing shirts of the acts they are seeing (particularly old shirts, as if to proclaim "I was a fan before you"), but anything truly over the top?
I saw OMD in Cleveland in '86. A couple with good seats were dressed up in "old-timey" clothes (think '20s or '30s-era) and were doing "ballroom dancing" to all of the songs. They had a giant, heavy chain around their shoulders that they would re-drape from song to song. As if that wasn't lame enough, they made a point to sit down and not dance during "If You Leave," since that was the "hit" and their beloved band had obviously "sold out" in their eyes. Truly silly.
Anyone?
