I don't know how many people around here have had the misfortune of having their computer infected with the "Windows Security Suite" virus, but let me tell you it isn't any fun at all. Every single application on your computer becomes inoperable, including system restore. This virus has been spreading like wildfire over the last few weeks and those of you who download are most at risk.
Here's a thread that is a must read from some tech forum regarding the nastiest virus I've ever encountered.

I've been hit with that shit 3 or 4 times now (just lucky I guess). It's a pain in the ass to clean up but not impossible. Malwarebytes, Super Anti Spyware and Symantec/Norton AV all find it. Keep them all up to date and you shouldn't have a problem. I didn't have to system restore or anything.
The one thing you have to remember to do manually after you've cleaned up and rebooted is go into connections on Internet Explorer and uncheck the proxy server box -- the spyware kept redirecting me to a busted proxy that made it seem like IE wasn't working. It took me a while to figure out what was up there.
