12"/80's No More!

12"/80's No More!

It's kinda sad. They recently posted on Facebook that there'll probably be no more 12"/80's cds coming our way in the future due to the poor sales of the last two, just like the RetroActive volumes.

It is sad, but to be honest, the past few volumes didn't interest me enough to buy. I think I only have three of the volumes, and that was among the first four or five that they issued. Unlike Retro:Active, too many of the tracks on 12"/80s are available elsewhere.

True. The 12"/80s Chilled one was pointless. Half of the tracks on there were not really fit to be called Chilled.

I don't get it. Clearly no research is being done on these comps, because if someone actually bothered to release one with any of the 1000 different remixes that have yet to be released on CD, maybe they'd actually have more than enough sales to continue. So frustrating.

Totally agree , I have put on their facebook page quite a few times that they should consult with this forum to get a view on some of the sought after 12" still to get put on CD. However , we had good linkage into the retroactive series and that did not stop it from folding which is a shame

The only one left seems to be so 80's and i must admit i was very dissapointed with that track listing

A few years ago i would have been very pleased with the fact that they put Seona dancing on it but as we know Retroactive did that a while back so why didnt they go for bitter heart which would have been much more of an interest to people

I don't think 12"/80s did themselves any favours by doing the themes sets, which limited what they could include.

Regarding Retro:Active's demise, was that series that well known? Even in Canada, I don't think my friends knew of it until I bought it for them.

This! I don't get it either. I don't know how many times I emailed them and suggested a 12" 80s Goth set with all kinds of extended mixes, but it simply fell on deaf ears. Then I saw the "Chilled" version(or whatever it's called), and I was really irked, as it had many mixes that just didn't make sense, or were mostly unknown.

There's a potpourri of unused mixes that we've yet to hear as you said, so it's not as if they don't have enough material.
