Blancmange Nil By Mouth

Track 1 "Eleanor" - has a Dntel, Suction records - Solvent melancholy feel the soft percussion bits sorta remind
me a little bit like "Sad Day" -- I like this one
track 2." Fall" - very moody ambient and minimal track - 6 minutes long that goes nowhere.
Track 3. "R + P" - has dissonant chords that sound like Kraftwerks Trans Europe Express--but goes nowhere
Track 4 "Cistern" a movie type score that reminds me of OMD's experimental pieces "Dazzle Ship" era
Track 5 "Gone" again OMD sounding track with some numanesque strings. slow and brooding.
Track 6 "Crystals of Zircon" - "Industrial" sounding.
Track 7 "The Son" not much to say experimental daydreaming
Track 8 "Matters of Life" most structured song on the album - I can hear ideas for lyrics to this song. nice melody
and Hammond organ usage - problem is it is too short only 2 minutes. just when you dig it-- it ends - like
Track 9 "Holiday Camp 2005" -- finally a recognizable Blancmange sound--yeah but only 3 minutes -
Track 10 "Landsea" - Acoustic stuff and the keyboardy stuff sounds like Vangelis's stuff
Track 11 "So Long Ago" Long 6 minute acoustic drone feedback style-"Tangerine Dream" Zeit era stuff
Track 12 "Close Encounters" Interesting Dub experimental track -- analog sounds-- Like this track dark, spoolky and sexy
and some horns sneak in towards the end reminding me of "Other Animals" track from believeyoume -

For the exception of one most of the tracks do not sound like Blancmange at all.
A lot of the material is very experimental, scribblings of ideas for songs, movie soundtrack scores type.
If you Liked Martin Gores lastest album MG - you might like this.
Not essential or crucial though.

I am a die hard and I do like experimental so I am keeping it.

I'll admit that I'm a little disappointed with the tracks. There's only a few I have inserted into Semi-Detached and the rest will probably never be played again.

Only Close Encounters, Holiday Camp, Eleanor, and Landsea made the cut.
