If you have the remasters from a few years back this compilation is redundant as everything was on them. I wish they would stop listing I Ran as an extended version when we know fine that there was no extended version ever released except crappy remixes from the last decade.

You're right. I do have the remasters, but the SOAYH was slightly screwed up where a couple of tracks were repeated or so. I'll have to check .

The only problem was that they repeated the album version of Remember David instead of the 7 inch version.

And I think the 7" of The More You Live... was also the album version repeated . Also the Full Moon Mix had the last few seconds chopped off.

I think there are about a dozen of their compilations out there do we really need another one :?: I wish they would concentrate on bands back catalogues which haven't been touched like Wang Chung for instance.

At least their first 2 albums should be deluxe editions . Probably wishful thinking but what the hell!

Might get it to give as a gift. These Club Deluxe sets are usually very cheap.

Once again no 7" versions. Where is the 7" version of Wishing??? At today still unreleased on cd.... We would like a compilation of single versions associated to a dvd videos. Is it so difficult?

Yep. Many of us would've liked nothing better than a complete singles collection containing all the 7" mixes in one place . Try and seek out the Japanese remaster of The Best Of from 2005. It's the best AFOS collection out there .

I recreated the 7" edit of "Wishing" a few years back then discovered it had been released here:

Well, admittedly, it's not the most hard-to-find 7" edit as it was released on quite a few VA compilations over the years. Checking Discogs I found out that even 7" edits of Transfer Affection and (It's Not Me) Talking have found their ways on VA CDs at least once (thought those are very rare now). And both single mixes of I Ran are out there too.

But no Modern Love is Automatic (even though it's actually a rather compiled song), Nightmares, Space Age Love Song (not mentioning the later singles which nobody seems to be interested in anyway). Even 1983 7" of Talking found their way on CD clearly by mistake (it's on "Indie Scene 81" CD from 1991), so no earlier stuff, too.

It really puzzles me - the band had quite a bit of success and are still mentioned more often than some of their peers. And yet they are still so badly-served by reissues - with lots of mistakes, omissions and other crap. Why are they so unloved...

my friend knows mike score pretty well.

it seems, he does not have the rights to the original songs anymore. so that is why most
of the recent releases have been re-recordings of the tracks.

the original members of the band, might not care about the releases anymore, and are
not involved with music.

that is the main problem when looking at new releases.
