I was at a club last night and heard a song that I thought might have been sung by Grace Jones.

The chorus went something like this:

"You could be Morrissey
You could be anybody
You could be free"

Probably I have misheard the first line
The music was basically a lot of percussion, although a lone guitar sneaked in at some point

Any help appreciated

I would say it's:

Saâda Bonaire - You Could Be More As You Are

Her album from 1984 was reissued in 2013:
