Robin Guthrie & Harold Budd

Robin Guthrie & Harold Budd

Hey, if you are a diehard (I mean really diehard) Cocteau Twins fan check out the Mysterious Skin soundtrack Robin did with Harold Budd... You can get samples on ITunes....I picked it up extra cheap on CD and it doesn't have Liz's voice but it sounds like the mellower stuff he was doing around 85-86 (eg. Victorialand) with the Twins. I think it is pretty damn awesome... but I am a diehard CT fan!

Do you have the stuff he did with John Foxx? If so, how is it?

Tranlucense & Drift Music are both very good but little more electro harmonic than his regular standard.A little more like "Three white roses and a budd" or Budd, Nelson, Brazillia.

I aquired this the other night and have been playing it on a regular basis. Very refreshing! picks up where "The moon and the melodies" left off except without Elizabet Frazier. Worth searching out.

Day-um,
I LOVE Moon and the Melodies. Simply adore it. I used to play it at night while trying to fall asleep. Perfect for playing in the dark.

Yeah, the Moon and The Melodies has been one of my favorites since the late 80's. Sitting here listening to it, half napping. Still have the original cd pressing.

Robin Guthrie and Simon Raymonde will be a part of the upcoming "Beautiful Noise" documentary on the late '80s/early '90s shoegaze musical scene that also features My Bloody Valentine, The Jesus And Mary Chain, Slowdive, Ride, Chapterhouse, Lush, Curve, Swervedriver, and others.
The interviews with Wayne Coyne (The Flaming Lips), Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), Robert Smith (The Cure), and several others will be here as well.
