I am guessing if you are big fans of John Foxx, you already know all of his early LP's were released on CD, remastered and with lots of bonus tracks (not dubs and demos). All sounding exceptional. I too have the LP's but did get the CD's also. I also am awaiting arrival of his new CD, it was described as being very reminiscent of his early 80s Metamatic days, intentionally the sound he was looking for again. Can;t wait to hear it, my copy should be here any day. I know vinyl purests won;t part with his LP's, nor will I for that matter, but it is very nice to hear them in such pristine form as the CD's. They really did a nice job with them IMO.

Indeed I'd like to have the bonus stuff. Still, finances being what they are, cross formating isn't possible with everything. I'm interested to hear the new one. For a man considered so influential his output has been terribly thin over the years.

Just gragged "Flaunt It" by Sigue Sigue Sputnik on vinyl. Now I can sell the original cd on ebay. Yay!

I had the "Love Missle F1-11" 12-inch after just reading about it when it first came out. I had the cassette of "Flaunt it" but got the vinyl for a ridiculous $1 about 10 years ago. Dig those commercials!!
(I'm getting pretty damn close to replacing all my cassettes with the vinyl versions of the release - - what was I thinking?)

Agreed on Mr. Numan. I love his stuff (at least the first four LPs and I like a good of it deal after) but he's pretty much admitted that Ultravox and JF were very influential to him. I certainly wouldn't say it's a total cop though as GN's approach seemed so more more removed and dispassionate than JF's.

I don't have anything by Hazel O'Conner...how would you describe it?

I picked up a couple albums by the Alleycats the other day - - kind of second-string early LA punk. Knew them from Urgh!

Also got the self-titled album by Afraid of Mice. Trouser Press guide gives it a pretty good thrashing but I'd say that if you're hungry for the era (like I am), it's not too awful.

Hmmm, how to describe Hazel O'Connor? She starred in and wrote all the songs for the movie Breaking Glass. If you have seen that then you know what she's like.

Kind of slightly dark New Wave pop, bass/guit/drums/synth. I know that doesn't say anything... if you see the Breaking Glass soundtrack give it a listen, it's one of my fave records.

Nope, a friend of mine was getting rid of all her albums. She was just going to list them on eBay and I offered to buy them right from her.

Yeah, that was a pretty nice haul, Natephish...

Dum Dum, oddly enough I picked up that Nuns lp myself no more than three weeks ago. (honest confession: I only knew it by recognizing the cover from a Posh Boy ad in one of my old issues of Trouser Press - I'm a sucker for finding that kind of stuff).

I consider "Thrash" from that Cowboys International lp to be one of the most under-appreciated gems of the era.

That first Nuns LP is classic. They're still going, relocated to NYC and doing S&M techno stuff. Jennifer Miro still looks pretty good for being a 40+ dominetrix!

Nuns LP is ace. It's great to hear some keyboards in aggressive music, before such things were deemed double plus un-good by the scourge of hardcore puritanism. Did you buy the Abraxas re-issue? Sweet job on the sleeve and the pressing is good quality.

Agreed on "Thrash". One of those cool tunes that you can never quite find the center of but keep trying if you get my point.
