I would have to say new wave, synth pop, italo disco, and stuff along those lines was the coolest stuff to come out of the 80s..

Those LA synth songs with the Yamaha DX-7 bass line that everyone else though was so cheesy....I love that music.

God that was what was so great about the 80s. There was such a wide variety of styles to choose from unlike now. I loved Aztec Camera, Orange Juice & The SMiths, Also Cure & Siouxsie but it was the synth driven stuff that really caught my attention.
