Huang Chung - Huang Chung

I saw this one during the past few months ago. I didn't buy it because I don't like them that much and it was $10. I might have picked it up for $5 [:)].

I guess I've a few CD's which can be considered rare like X'Mal Deutschland Viva, The Wild Swans BHTA,US and Phil releases, The Adventures Theodore and Friends, 3 copies, The Farmer's Boys, Lover Speaks, Railway Children, River Detectives, Close Lobsters,16 Tambourines, Trashing Doves, The Colourfield [:D] etc, etc But there is one that I like particularly, not because it's hard to get but because the album is quite excellent. The Fountainhead, Voice of Reason.

Here is a sample:

"The Lords Of The New Church" self titled CD, which I think is out of print now. Dark and dirty New Wave Rock at it's best.

"Russian Roulette", "Open Your Eyes", "Dance With Me" and other dirges with the occasional gritty saxophone cutting through the macabre inspired mood and cobweb filled lyrics.

These guys were no Duran Duran New Wave teen idols. If you were in a room alone with them you'd be more than a little nervous. These are the guys even Alice Cooper probably thought were "weird" and scary.

You can get the CD used on Amazon so I guess it's not that rare. Still, I like my copy. Stumbled acrossed it at a used CD store and couldn't believe my luck. $5.99 and in great shape. This was before Amazon became what it is now.

I like the fact that it's used, was cast away and has battle scars on the case. This just adds to it's ugly charm as an unwanted stepchild.

The s/t CD was reissued in 2003 but the song Dance With Me is in the Killer Lords album.

Yeah that track is on the CD. But I'm afraid I'm not tech savvy enough to know how to post it here. Maybe you could walk me through it in a private message or tell me if directions are available on the NWO site.

<br>The only really rare CDs that I have are-

Vangelis - Blade Runner (Esper Edition).

I have one of the older sets when there were only 35 copies out there. But now some idiots CD-R copied all of them.

I'm sure these in my collection are not too hard to come by, but they are definitely out of print from what I've read.

KTP - 'Certain things Are Likely' (w/bonus track- One Step remix)
Martini Ranch - 'Holy Cow'
The Innocence Mission - (1989) 'Self Titled'

The most expensive CD I have purchased is "Under The White Bible Law" by The Game for $65. Apart from being a rare French-only CD, it is really excellent. I bought and sold Secession's "Dark Enchantment" on Ebay and made a few bucks. Sophie and Peter Johnston's self-titled CD (Japanese version) was another one. Now here's a new-wave tragedy: I bought Red Box "Circle and the Square" back in 1986 when it first came out and kept it for years, in pristine condition. Then eventually it found it's way into a cardboard box in the garden shed at my parent's house. Now, I can't find it and can't remember if I sold it cheap at one time (I didn't realize CD's were collectible until about 2001). Bummer!

Oh yeah, I also recommend the Rouen CD "Young for a Day" if you can find it. Does anyone have a CD copy of the Once Bitten Soundtrack? Is that rare?

Duran Duran - Essential Night Versions

*rare to begin with, it's now out-of-print. Fun trivia: came with an extra "bonus" CD of "New Moon on Monday", which you could DL off their website---but only if you had Windows 3.1 or 95. Which I didn't. But maybe djsoss does!

I picked mine up used. How does the bonus disc fit into the case? I never bothered trying out the disc on a computer.

The bonus CD which contained "NMoM" was simply in a white paper slipcover, which was inserted into the cool box design of Night Versions. Of course I kept it, even tho I was never able to DL the song. Immediately after Windows 3.1 or 95 became passe, the CD was no good any longer, and their website quickly deleted the link. As far as I know, there is no way to DL the song. At the time, the band (or at least Nick Rhodes) thought it was about to became cutting-edge technology to DL songs off websites, LOL![:)]

Okay, thanks. That's how my used copy came. Thought it was kind of fishy how there wasn't any proper space dedicated for the bonus disc.

I guess it was. Look how many people now are suckered into buying DRM tracks from Itunes. A big waste of CD space just to be cool though. Oh well, glad I have New Moon 12" mix on other CDs.
