It was a pretty impressive set that didn't miss a single Plimsouls great IMHO. It was exactly as the set list through Zero Hour...

How Long Will It Take
Making Time
I'll Get Lucky
Everyday Things
Great Big World
Hush
Shakey City
Oldest Story in the World
Everywhere at Once
Hobo (amazing!)
I Want What You Got
Now
Zero Hour

Million Miles Away was to follow but I think they slipped in Lost Time and In This Town before it then did Million Miles with a break and an encore that included their fun Dizzy Miss Lizzy cover. They may have also slipped in Women, Paper Doll or maybe even Come On Now in there toward the end. So they played at least 18 songs! Sorry I'm kinda fuzzy now a couple days later - should have responded right away.

Edit: finally getting to those pics...

Here's Peter Case, probably looking the worst among them for all these years of wear. His Nerves EP with Jack Lee and Paul Collins was in 1976 after all, and at least he looks better than any of the Ramones:

Dave Pahoa still had the most laid-back cool in this group:

On Drums wasn't Lou Ramirez or even Clem Burke (another Blondie connection in addition to the Nerves' "Hanging on the Telephone") but new guy Bryan Head (who rocked btw):

Eddie Munoz still oozed a great rock-n-roll persona and still knew how to shred a guitar:

He was also cool to the tourists afterwards, despite their fuzzyness after all the booze:

OMG, Maxwell's is maybe half the size. It's unbelievable to think of New Order playing one of their first US gigs there like you mentioned (25 year ago!). Or even Jersey homeboy Springsteen in his early days.

The Casbah in San Diego is about the same size as the room in Maxwell's. Too bad the Slits go on at 2AM (schwenko time)[V]

Hey...cool pictures from Maxwell's. We (Parallax Project) were the opening band for the entire tour, and while Maxwell's was really cool, Magnetic Fields was WAAAY better. Great crowd, and the 'Souls played like a runaway freight train.

Anybody here go to the Mag Fields show?

Hey! You guys were good!! Maxwell's was good enough for me, but now I'm curious to what went down in Brooklyn. Cheers.

Saw the DC show at Jammin' Java. Excellent show. Dave Pahoa said they were recording again and would eventually have another album.
Friggin' awesome news. Gibtone, if you were responsible for getting The Plimsouls out East many thanks are owed to you. Your band was really good.

Thanks for the pictures, set list, etc. Loads of great memories came back to me. [:)]

I used to see these guys every weekend at ON Klub in Silver Lake, area of Los Angeles, that was filmed for the scene in "Valley Girl" when The Plimsouls are playing on stage.

Very cool! Parallaxproject was quite good, and the person selling your cds was very nice indeed[:D]
You were very classy; you were very respectful to the Plims at Maxwells.
Sorry I couldn't make it to Magnetic Field because I was in San Diego.
Very elemental. Very energetic. What a rush. It's pretty cool to just walk right up to Peter Case, Dave Pahoa and Eddit Munoz and just chit-chat about concerts that were 24 months ago and 24 years ago! This was very special to me. Was very glad for the great company - a great time. Hope to post pictures a the full video of the entire Million Miles Away performance when I get back home.

Yeah, I kind of orchestrated the entire tour. It was an absolutely surreal experience, and one that will inspire us for some time to come. They recorded a version of The Easybeats' "Good Time Tonight" in my studio on our days off. I GOT TO ENGINEER THE FIRST PLIMSOULS RECORDING IN OVER 10 YEARS!! The van stories alone were worth the effort and expense to make it happen. You wouldn't believe the list of women that some of those boys bagged back in the day.

The Mag Fields show was better for a variety of reasons: A packed, sold out house. Crowd 6 inches from your face. The band about to fall apart at any minute. Eddie playing guitar solos atop the bar. Keith Streng from the Fleshtones jumping onstage. Broken guitar AND bass strings. GIRLS!!!

We're talking loosely about doing it all again in the spring/summer. I gotta get some sleep first.

Dream request for Gibtone:

Fleshtones & Plimsouls East Coast Summer Tour w/Parallax Project, of course. Could you pull that off? Regardless of who's on the bill I'll be there.
