What's your Hobby?

I'm pathetic. I don't have hobbies. I'm not artsy-craftsy--no glue guns and scrapbooks for me, and I don't have baskets of flowers and shit hanging off every wall in my house. I don't collect anything (unless clothes and shoes count, but I don't think they do. That's just normal, female behavior). I once tried to learn to sew--that was a disaster. You've got to have patience for hobbies, and I'm the most impatient person ever.

Does reading count? I read a lot--about a book a day lately. I'm definitely a familiar face at the library. Books are my plane tickets out of here, and I guess that's what hobbies are for: escape.

I'm with BMG - I used to have hobbies, I don't really find the time any more. Between studying, work, school and keeping up on my extensive & facinating TV schedule, I don't have time for building model boats in bottles, making quilts, overhauling cars or training my dog to shop-lift.

I do have a cool collection of dinosaur models...does that count as a hobby? [:D]

I've always liked to spend hours trying to stack BB's on a windy day. Never have been too successful though.

Music is my hobby...

Listening to it
Reading about it
Writing about it
Compiling it
Etc.

I wake up, shower and head into work. on the way, I listen to music. When I get to work, I write about it for 8-9 hours while listening to it (I provide information to my company on releases). On the way home, I listen to it. When I get home, I read about it or listen some more.

Man, I've got to get a life!

I have a room full of them. I love synth music, and I can be found sneaking into the electronic music studio on campus at random times.

12 years of piano...and I own a series of old skool boards.

It swicked...my obsession with new wave came from my obsession with synths. Hardware and Software...they just rock.

I like your new word there: "swicked"[8D]

I collect movies on dvd and vhs. Pretty simple and makes it a worthless collection considering my taste in the stuff[}:)]

I grow everything; I'm crazy. I even like the weeds. Veggies, herbs, flowers, perennials, roses. I'm the type who throws pits and seeds in the ground to see what happens.

Reading.
My 2 Labs are kind of my hobby.
Beadwork--not the stringing-tiny-beads kind, just big beads.
Home decor-type stuff. Nothing too silly, just paint, trying to clean up and unify after years of milk-crates-as-furniture style, stuff like that.
Working on my '74 Plymouth Duster.

I Collect Electric R/C Toys

Anything from a micro submersible to a 4 channel sailboat.

My oldest one dates back to 1978 (large cabin cruiser- ebay purchase) and 1985 ('84 Fiero- originally purchased)

The only one missing is my UFO airship (for lack of helium)

Just waiting for the day when my kids are old enough to handle and care for them.[^]

I love hearing about people's hobbies. Our passions say so much about who we are. Philly, photography is a great hobby! With ANY camera!
