No kidding, it's like the vinyl wells have all dried up and gone to ebay. In the last month I've only bought The Chords LP and an old Moog record by Dick Hyman.

I have the 7" single of "Love Cascade" since it was released originally (really a GREAT song) but have never seen the 12" or the Lp it came from. Nice find, brambo...

I've found a few lately:

Eyeless in Gaza - Caught in flux (I probably paid a bit too much for this, no I won't tell you) but I'm a sucker for this kind of '81 english crap..

Farewell to the Roxy comp. - from '78, lots of 2nd (3rd?)-string early punk acts on it, with UK Subs being most well-known. I'm glad I came across this. I have the other 'Live at the Roxy' lp ("Roxy London WC2"...) as well.

'Hicks from the Sticks' comp. - This is also filled with alot of small-name post-punk acts, with some bigger names like Modern Eon, Clock DVA and Medium Medium as well. Like I said, I'm a sucker for this kind of stuff.

Swell Maps - A trip to Marineville. On Rough Trade, found this for $6 which I thought was kind of cheap. Had never come across it before.

Chain Link Fence - Fireworks. On Throbbing Lobster records from Boston. Textbook 1985 alternative, little jangly, maybe like Mighty Lemon drops, nice period record.

Certain General - November's Heat. From 1984, kind of an odd record. Reminds me a little of the Bolshoi. Cover is almost a 'lift' from REM's "Murmer" (very similar!). Nothing like REM, though, but probably after that audience at the time.

Spear of Destiny - Grapes of Wrath. The cover looks better than the music inside. Trouser Press Guide kinda pans it, and I really can't argue. Not alot of excitement on this (to me - you might love it).

This was in fact the vinyl debut of the UK Subs.

Roy Wood-Starting up(his 80s comeback was a wonderful collection of pomp pop/rock songs with his quirky sensibility)

Dirty Angels-Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye(NY based late 70s band with a glammy touch.The wonderful''Tell me''was an underground radio hit,back then...)

Spiderz-Lines of Passion(Dutch new wave act with killer guitar lines, bubbly synths and harshy vocals.Remindes me of the also Dutch Meteors, but without the artistic edge of them.)

Man it's been slow for vinyl these days...

I just got a copy of "Signing Off" by UB40 with the added 12" 45rpm EP. That was $2.00

I also got a Factory Benelux pressing of Section 25's "Key Of Dreams" for $6.00

Other than that the only vinyl I've been buying is new punk stuff like The Vicious, The Bayonettes, and the reissue of The Maggots "Lets Get Tammy Wynette".

Cool finds Brambo!Got too a lot of stuff today in ridicoulous prices with a lot of surprises.
The Kings-Are here(one of my searching targets for years in great condition)
Nervous Germans-Desolation Zone(very interesting new wavish rock band with some punky guitar flashes)
Keith Marshall(cool new wave pop era 1981 from a former member of glam rock giants The Hello)
Lady Pank(possibly a Polish band and what really forced me to buy it was the kitsch cover, kinda of 80s sounding pseudo-punk combo.''Drop Everything''the title)
Captain Sensible-Power of Love
The Heaters-s/t(teen power pop with some ''punk''influence, this is their first album.Got to love them)
And also The Maggots ep reissue which is great!

Brambo,

If you could send that over that would be great!

I finally found the Blue Murder song a few months back and posted it over on the Obscure80's section of the message board

Thanks,
Justin
