<p align="justify">There are a coupla "Independents". I think Jesse Ventura, the former wrestler and governor of Minnesota, is Independent. I think there's also a Independent somewhere out on the northern East Coast. Vermont or somethin'. I suppose I could've voted whomever the Libertarian party had on the ballot, if, in fact, they managed to get him on the ballot (doubtful[:I] ). I thought it was pretty funny when the Green Party was getting funding from the Republicans[:D] It is such a nasty mess you gotta have some sense of humour about this shit.

Unfortunately an increasing number of Americans do just that--by not voting at all.

I've said this before: three hundred million people; a cosmopolitian and (generally) well-educated populace with a myriad of experiences and THESE are the two nitwits we have to choose the leader of the free world from?
Nowhere in the Constitution is a two-party system mandated. It's time to get rid of the electoral college and dismantle the two-party system. The politics of voting for the lesser of two evils is just ridiculous.

XXX, we will of course never know what would have happened if Kerry would have won in 2004. Unfortunately I have found Bush to be an embarrasment of a President at best and at worse a threat to the very Constitution he swore an oath to uphold. I'd be curious what policies or endeavors this administration has started that you would consider a success. Not trying to be a smartass, just interested in another point of view..

It's not that I think this administration has done any good, but that there was literally a nobody running against Bush in the last election. We were left with the option of voting for guy who misled everyone and the guy who unquestionably voted for his most destructive policies - only to backpeddal when it was too damn late. I suppose not voting at all would have been the other option, or voting for a third party candidate.

While working in a hospital in La Jolla, I was ordered to take down two pictures in my cubicle - Martin Luther King Jr, and Thurgood Marshall. Turns out I was being "politically insensitive" and potentially causing problems. Strange that two of the other guys in the office that played the Rush Limbaugh show nightly were never told to turn that crap off. Lots of goose-stepping in that office. That is one seriously scary "Stepford Wives" wannabe community. At least things have changed slightly in the overall political philosophy.

I would only vote blank if I didn't like any of the candidates or parties, I think that's better that not voting, as if you just didn't give a damn about politics and your country. And if I was there, I would have never voted Bush, that's for sure.

Anyway, so far I've always found someone interesting to vote for here, and though like in the US we also have two big parties and always one of them is the most voted, it doesn't mean the winner will rule since there are many small parties that can play an important role.

I think the only reason Bushido won the election was because of 9/11. I know alot of people thought he would be more likely to defend us against attack. Man did that go wrong.
